We need a list of greatest love songs by indie bands. I would choose ‘hear me now’ or ‘victory tree’ by saint john and the revelations and ‘blowers daughter’ by damien rice. And Trouble by Ray LaMontagne. Such great music and these boys know what love is.

I think you should add in this top 100 By my Side Ben Harper.
And it’s completely amazing that we can’t find Lauryn Hill Ex-Factor in the top 10.
Which is one of the most beautifull song written. She did at 18.

I will always love you is the best love song of all time, but the credit for it should go to Dolly Parton, who wrote it, recorded it and won a grammy for it long before Whitney wanted to sing it.
It’s a shame she isn’t given more credit for it; Dolly is the talent behind the song.

the problem with some of these is that they are break-up songs, not LOVE songs…”ill be there for you”, “total eclipse of the heart”, and “every rose has it’s thorn”

One song I am surprised that isn’t listed is Foreigner’s “Waiting For a Girl Like You”, I thought that was one of the most beautiful love ballads ever and it’s a shame this song is often overlooked in favor of “I Want to Know What Love Is” (which I didn’t think was that great)
