Newsbreak: Bongbong Marcos, six others assured of House seats

While most congressional candidates are busy campaigning and doing all sorts of gimmicks to win the votes of their constituents, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and a few other congressional candidates are already assured of seats in the House of Representatives.

Based on the Comelec unofficial list of congressional candidates, news reports, and our own interviews, we gathered that about seven congressional races are uncontested. However, the Comelec list is far from complete, one week into the May 14 elections.

Lacson, Roco and party-list groups to support reproductive health bill

Two senatorial candidates and four organizations vying for congressional seats vowed on Friday to support the reproductive health bill, whose passage in the last two Congresses has been blocked by forces influenced by the Catholic Church.
In a forum organized by the Reproductive Health Action Network, only two of the 25 invited senatorial candidates—Panfilo Lacson and Sonia Roco of the Genuine Opposition—showed up to give their stand on reproductive health.
